Osteoporosis: An Equal Opportunity
Disease
By Dr. Narinder Saini M.D.
Think osteoporosis is just for women? Think again-older
adults, both men and women, are at risk for developing
osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is the cause of more than 1.5
million bone fractures each year. Keep bones strong by
getting enough calcium, vitamin D, and regular physical
activity. The best sources of calcium are dairy foods.
Weight bearing exercise like walking, jogging, and dancing
helps keep bones dense. No matter what your age, keep
your bones healthy by making the right choices. |
